Kosher Food in Curacao

Curacao’s supermarkets are stocked with fresh fruits and vegetables and with dry and cold products imported from different countries. Many of the items are from the United States and carry reliable kashrut symbols such as OU, OK, STAR-K, CHOF-K etc. There are many products imported from Holland and Venezuela as well.

Lists of kosher Dutch and Venezuelan products can be found on the web at:

http://www.venezuelakosher.com (Spanish)

http://www.nik.nl/Frames_eng.asp (English)

Some examples of kosher products that are readily available in Curacao are Star-Kist / Bumblebee tuna, Hellman’s / Kraft mayonnaise, Philadelphia cream cheese, Heinz / Hunt’s ketchup, Oreo cookies, Cheerios, Kellogg’s cereal, granola bars, Lays potato chips, sodas, Skippy peanut butter, Jam, Kosher lox, frozen Empire chicken, and much more. Some stores carry frozen lender's bagels, Pita bread and rolls.

There are no kosher restaurants in Curacao, but there are kosher ice-cream shops: Ben's & Jerry's, Baskin-Robbins, Edys, and Haagen-Dazs. Gourmet chocolate and other treats can be found at the ‘Candy Barrel’ store in Zeelandia.

There are no kosher cold-cuts or hard cheese.
